India's economy is the world's fifth-largest by nominal GDP and the third-largest by purchasing power parity, and it is classified as a newly industrialized country and a developing economy with an average annual growth rate of 7.5between 2014 and 2019.


India is a member of the G20, the G7, BRICS, the Union for the Mediterranean, the World Trade Organization, SAARC, the International Monetary Fund, the World Bank, the World Health Organization, the United Nations and many other international organizations.


India has a diverse and rich culture. The country is known for its literature, music, dance, art, philosophy, and cuisine. Some of the famous Indian festivals are Diwali, Holi, Dussehra, Navaratri, and Pongal.
