Bihar

Bihar is a state located in the eastern region of India. It is the third-largest state by population and is bordered by the states of Uttar Pradesh to the west, Jharkhand to the south, and West Bengal to the east. It is also bordered by Nepal to the north.


Bihar has a rich history and culture, with ancient Buddhist sites such as Nalanda and Bodh Gaya, and monuments like the famous Mahavir Mandir in Patna, which is one of the most visited pilgrimage sites in the country. The state is also known for its traditional art forms such as Madhubani painting and the Sattriya dance.


The economy of Bihar is primarily agrarian, with rice and wheat being the main crops. However, it has also seen significant growth in the industrial and service sectors, particularly in the areas of IT, biotechnology, and tourism.



The official language of the state is Hindi and also has a significant population of speakers of Urdu, Bhojpuri and Maithili.


Bihar has been working towards improving its infrastructure and education in recent years, with the establishment of new universities, medical colleges, and IT parks. The state government has also been promoting sustainable development and conservation of natural resources, including through the development of solar and wind power projects.
