Assam

Assam is a state located in the northeastern region of India. It is the eighth-largest state in the country by area and is bordered by the states of Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura and Meghalaya, and the country of Bangladesh to the south.

The economy of Assam is primarily agrarian, with rice, jute, and oilseeds being the main crops. However, the state is also rich in natural resources, such as petroleum, natural gas, and limestone, and there are several oil refineries and cement factories in the state.


The official language of the state is Assamese, and it also has a significant population of speakers of Bengali and Hindi.

The state government has also been promoting sustainable development and conservation of natural resources, including through the development of solar and wind power projects.
